PROMINENT PATRONS AND GUESTS – OPENING ON NOVEMBER 29



Lilith Stangenberg, Nora Fingscheidt, Mala Emde and Dani Levy are among the more than 20 sponsors of the 19th edition of AROUND THE WORLD IN 14 FILMS. Guests include Mohammad Rasoulof, Laetitia Dosch, Dea Kulumbegashvili, Pia Marais, Helena Zengel and Christoph Hochhäusler and many more.

 

In keeping with tradition, the program of the cinematic world tour of AROUND THE WORLD IN 14 FILMS is presented by personalities from the film and culture scene. Festival opening on November 28th

 

The 19th World Cinema Festival opens next Friday, November 29, 2024, in the cinema in the KulturBrauerei with “The Seed of the Sacred Fig Tree” by Mohammad Rasoulof. The film will be presented in the presence of the director, the leading actresses and other members of the team by film journalist Knut Elstermann, godfather of the film. “The Seed of the Sacred Fig Tree” will be released in German cinemas on December 26, 2024 (Alamode Film) and is Germany's official Oscar® submission for 2025 in the category “Best International Feature Film”. Guests expected on the opening evening include: the actors Pegah Ferydoni, Melika Foroutan, Anne Ratte-Polle, the directors Sarah Blaßkiewitz, Konstantin Bock, Dani Levy, Burhan Qurbani, Faraz Shariat and Natalia Sinelnikova; the producer Janine Jackowski and the jury members Maryam Zaree, Annika Pinske and Fabian Stumm.
