For the fifth time, the Berlin world cinema festival AROUND THE WORLD IN 14 FILMS will present the "BASIS Berlin Postproduction Award," selected by a jury. This year's jurors are actress Melika Foroutan, film director and screenwriter Angelina Maccarone, and film director and screenwriter Sophie Linnenbaum. The award recognizes the best directorial achievement in a film from the "14 Films" section and will be presented at the festival's closing ceremony on Saturday, December 6, 2025. The €5,000 prize is sponsored by BASIS BERLIN Postproduction. "Worldwide cinema tells stories that transcend borders, break down clichés, and strengthen mutual understanding. That's why this festival is indispensable: it gives voice to diverse perspectives and fosters dialogue between cultures. We are delighted to be sponsoring the award again this year," said Frieda Oberlin, Managing Director of BASIS BERLIN Postproduction. The 20th edition of the festival will take place from November 28 to December 6, 2025, at the cinema in the Kulturbrauerei in Berlin, as well as at the delphi LUX and Neues Off cinemas. Premium partners for 2025 are the audio specialist beyerdynamic, the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg, ARTE, and CineStar.
